About us
Before the war, tea, along with raw silk, was a valuable export commodity often shipped from Shimizu port.
At that time, a tramway ran directly from Shizuoka station to Chacho, where many foreign merchants lived, and my father tells us that the area was lined with exotic mansions. Shizuoka tea has been exported to various countries around the world, including the United States, Russia, and Morocco.
Our company is one of those that has exported from Shizuoka.
The previous generation, during the Meiji period, led to the company being split and becoming Daisan Tsusho Co., Ltd., now in its 75th fiscal year.
My grandfather and the company's predecessor were high school classmates and became close friends who helped each other in business after the war. And now, having grown up with this tea as Japanese tea, I wish to deliver Daisan's exquisite tea to Europe and have resumed ties with the current president.
We want to deliver this wonderful tea to you, which we wish to pass on to future generations.
